If you like the look of Chromebooks, you could install Cub Linux. It is just as fast as Linux Lite and looks great too! here's a link to some more information: Cub LinuxHope this all helps! I wish you the best of luck in your distro search!

When you end up getting to Antergos on your list, it has several DE's to choose from. To get a fast and responsive system, I would recommend picking "XFCE" in the installer (this will be about half way through the process). XFCE offers a quick, lightweight system (meanig it will run faster than Gnome or KDE) and yet it does not sacrifice too much. You will still get a traditional menu and a taskbar, and you can always go into settings and make it look a little better too. Also, if you happen to be planning on dual booting Antergos, I would recommend downloading their Community ISO as it offers an updated version of their installer which has a built in guide to dual booting in order to help people that need to do so. As a side note, the Community ISO actually has all of the options that the normal one does, it just has a few more in addition.

If you don't mind, could you tell me what distro you ended up choosing for yourself and how it's working for you once you are done? Thank you .
